Slapton Parish Council currently consists of five councillors and is supported by a professional Clerk who is employed on a part time basis by the Council.

The Council has powers laid out in the Local Government Act 1972 and other legislation. Parish Councils have overall responsibility for the well-being of a local community. There are many services which they may provide.

We work together with Buckinghamshire Unitary Council and are members of the Buckinghamshire & Milton Keynes Association of Local Councils (BMALC). We are also an active member of the Freight Strategy Consultative Committee.

The Council meets on the second Wednesday of the month apart from August. Councillors form a corporate body and must work together representing the interests of local people. The public are most welcome to attend. There is a session at the start of the meeting where the public may ask questions if these questions cannot be addressed within the Published Agenda for the evening, they will be included on the Agenda of the following meeting. The public are also advised that they may request items to be included on the Agenda by contacting the Clerk or one of the Councillors.

Agenda and Minutes are posted on the Parish Noticeboards, as well as on this website.
