Slapton Parish Council operate a Vehicle Activated Sign (VAS) around the Parish. VAS is a generic term for a type of road traffic sign which displays a message conditional upon the speed of a road vehicle.
These signs activate if an approaching vehicle is detected to be exceeding the 30mph speed threshold. The actual speed is displayed as a warning to remind the driver/rider to slow down.
The roadside equipment also records all traffic passing and captures the speeds of each vehicle. The latest speed data graphs can be seen below.
The highest speed recorded, 81mph, was in Mill Road during January 2019.
